This home was built in the 1950’s atop a hill overlooking the gorgeous mountains and city views.
High beamed ceilings, is a signature element of the classic California Ranch. Typically a single story with the central great room. The open floor plan was way before its time and so far ahead of how Californians live. It’s all about family and friends. We took this beautiful light open space and planned for the way they lived. With limited storage, each piece needed to help with the flow of the many nights of cooking and entertaining with friends and family.
Keeping the backgrounds light with a neutral pallet, we did a large Abica rug
Then we designed a black and gold lacquered cabinet with a bar inside. It’s the first piece you see when you walk in and it’s a show stopper. Then moving on to the seating around the white brick fireplace, we did two traditional sofas flanking the firer place with custom glass and iron coffee table. The idea of glass, mirrors, and windows was to bounce light all around. From the great room, you see out on the pool and terrace with built-in bbq, to add just so much to the dining alfresco. The kitchen with an opening to dining and living, was an essential element while cooking and entertaining.
This is a house to love!!!
