Pacific Palisades Junior Woman’s Club Home Tour.
My second project for the Home Tour involved a grand 1920s California Spanish estate overlooking the Pacific.
The home had been the site of many Hollywood gatherings with glamorous stars, among them, Marilyn Monroe, Charles Laughton, and Maureen O’Hara. It had also been the scene of rehearsals for “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” with O’Hara and Laughton.
It was said that a secret closet behind the living room paneling served as the best bar in town during Prohibition.
We were able to use a few of the client’s furnishings, and brought in rugs, art, accessories and additional pieces to highlight this exquisite backdrop. This was a glamorous sight, complete with Swarovski chandeliers, marble fireplace surround, magnificent kitchen, mirrored paneling, and stunning entry door.
This was an appreciated opportunity to provide a second project for the Junior Woman’s Club and to give back again to my community.
